Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 21, 2026

This privacy policy governs your use of the mobile application Echo Runner ("Application", "we", "us", or "our"), available on the Google Play Store, developed and published by PocketESP.

Summary: Echo Runner is designed with privacy by design. We do not require personal accounts, emails, phone numbers, or real-world identities. All gameplay progress is saved on your device, and optional global leaderboard entries only use your chosen in-game callsign.

1. Information We Collect and Process

A. In-Game Callsign / Nickname (User-Provided):

When you start the game, you may choose an in-game runner callsign (e.g. "NEON ACE"). This nickname is used solely for in-game display and on the public global leaderboard. You should not use your real name, email, or any personally identifiable information as your callsign.

B. Global Leaderboard Data & Device Identifier:

To enable worldwide rankings, the Application transmits and stores your best wave reached, score, callsign, and an anonymous, randomly generated internal installation identifier (e.g. dev_...) on our secure cloud database hosted by Supabase. This identifier is used exclusively to update and deduplicate your personal record on the leaderboard and is never linked to your personal identity.

C. Local Device Storage:

Game settings (sound preferences, unlocked cosmetic skins, coin balances, and achievements) are saved locally on your device via standard sandbox application storage (SharedPreferences).

2. Third-Party Services & Advertising

The Application integrates third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device in accordance with Google Play Developer Policies:

Google AdMob (Advertising):

We display rewarded and interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob to support the development and maintenance of Echo Runner. Google AdMob may collect and process:

For details on how Google processes ad data, please review the Google Advertising Privacy Policy and Google Privacy & Terms.

Supabase (Cloud Leaderboard Database):

We use Supabase (PostgreSQL) to store public leaderboard entries (callsign, waves, score, anonymous ID). Data is transmitted securely over encrypted TLS/HTTPS connections. Review the Supabase Privacy Policy for more information.

3. Data Security & Encryption

All network communications between the Application and third-party backend services (Supabase and Google AdMob) are strictly transmitted over industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption to protect data in transit.

4. Data Retention and Deletion Policy

In accordance with Google Play's User Data and Account Deletion policies:

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Families Policy)

Echo Runner is suitable for general audiences. The Application does not knowingly solicit or collect personal data from children under the age of 13. All data collection is limited to non-personal anonymous identifiers for game functionality and ads. If a parent or guardian discovers that a child has submitted personal information, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates or regulatory changes. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
